This family wanted the kitchen, dining and living room to work as one space. We shored the second-floor loft, took out the load-bearing wall and arched openings, set a new structural beam, then remodeled the entire kitchen around a bigger island and opened it to the backyard with a custom bifold door.
01 · BeforeTwo arched openings and a load-bearing wall split the kitchen from the living room under a second-floor loft.
02 · DuringWe took out the wall and both arches, with temporary supports holding up the loft while a new beam went in to carry it for good.
03 · AfterA long quartz island, new cabinetry and hood, LVP throughout and a custom bifold glass door that opens the kitchen to the patio.

We replace a standard back door and windows with a custom folding glass door that opens your kitchen or living room straight to the patio. Structural work, door install and finish on both sides, all done by one crew.

AfterWe measure the wall and spec a custom-sized unit: panel count, fold direction and where the walk-through door sits.
Old door and windows come out and a new header goes in, sized for the span and permitted where required.
The door is set, leveled, flashed and sealed so it operates smoothly and keeps the weather out.
Brick, sill, drywall, trim and paint are finished inside and out so the opening looks like it was always there.
Building an outdoor kitchen or covered patio too? Our sister company Trophy Patios designs and builds outdoor living spaces, so the door and the patio can be planned as one project.
